Indian Summer Festival [POSTPONED until 2009]

The first Indian Summer Festival was originally
planned for
Saturday 20th September 2008,
but has been POSTPONED until 2009
(watch this space for updates)
This is special a one-day event to be held in the village of Aston near
Stevenage in Hertfordshire. It will be free of charge to enter, but food
and therapies will be paid for. We are currently negotiating funding to
bring some of the finest musicians to share their talents.
Goals
- promote indigenous music from around the world
- enjoy singing, drumming and dance workshops and performances
- encourage cultural diversity and unity
- raise awareness of green issues, recycling, low-carbon footprint
- organic and vegetarian food
- healing area with meditation, Alexander Technique, etc.
- alternative therapies taster sessions such as reflexology and massage available
- children's area with lots of fun things to do
- young adults' zone with
mobile sound system,
juggling, movies, barbecue
