Take part in a unique and soulful wellbeing session, integrating gentle yoga with Indian classical music. You will be guided through a slow, calm and inclusive yoga session, accompanied by the soothing sounds of live sitar and table. This experience will be brought to you by Geeta Pendse, Harkiran Sahota and Akash Parekar.
Geeta Pendse is a yoga teacher and journalist, currently presenting Breakfast and BBC Politics East Midlands and BBC Sunday Morning Live. Her passion for wellbeing led her to become a qualified yoga teacher and share her love of yoga with others.
Akash and Harkiran represent a generation of musicians who are on a continuous exploration of their identity and the juxtaposition of Indian classical traditions and contemporary cultural influences.
Harkiran Singh Sahota trained under world renowned tabla musician Pandit Sanju Sahai and has now established himself as one of the most talented percussionists in the UK.
Akash Parekar is a student of renowned sitarists Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE and Roopa Panesar. He is now a leading musician in the next generation of British Indian classical musicians, performing his music across most major venues in the country including the Southbank Centre and Royal Albert Hall.
This very special collaboration will create a magical and unforgettable journey through sound, stillness and flow.
Please bring your own yoga mats if possible. If you don’t have a mat, we can provide you one if let us know before the session.
