Inspirate have partnered with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Vidya Patel to premiere this new work as the finale of An Indian Summer 2025.
Dance artist and choreographer Vidya Patel, during her artist residency with the Philharmonia Orchestra, brings together collaborators; Shammi Pithia to create an original score, and spatial designer Shankho Chaudhuri for this new work "A Bride's Woven Plea"
“A Bride's Woven Plea” through dance, live music and space unravels and reweaves the stories of women, plaited through time, migration, and memory. Taking inspiration from the act of plaiting, this work honours the resilience and complexity of women who carry their homes within them through migration, and through the untying and retying of their own identities to weave knowledge, ritual and tradition into the landscape of British culture as we see it today.
