We’ll be screening two short films - Jaikur by Kesha Raithatha and Roots & Rivers by Nupur Arts. About Nupur Arts Dance Academy

Nupur Arts is an arts organisation based at the LCB Depot specialising in South Asian Classical dance. As well as teaching dance to over 200 students each week, Nupur Arts’ work involves the curation of professional dance and music events, with its annual Nartan Festival offering a vibrant celebration of South Asian arts and culture to the people of Leicester and beyond. The company continually runs artist development programmes which support emerging artists from across the county to develop industry skills and produce work with professional production values.
About Kesha Raithatha

Kesha Raithatha is a fierce and boundary-pushing dancer and choreographer whose work merges the precision of Kathak with the fluidity of contemporary movement. Her choreographic voice is rich, textured, and unapologetically experimental — reimagining what contemporary South Asian dance can be today. With deep roots between the UK and India, and as a Work Place artist at The Place, an Associate Director with Aakash Odedra Company, Kesha moves between worlds — both culturally and creatively. She’s driven by a passion to spark global artistic dialogue and create bold, socially relevant work that dives into the unspoken and the taboo. Kesha’s performances invite audiences into surreal, otherworldly spaces — where movement becomes memory, ritual, and radical transformation.
